Ayurveda

Straight from India and known for millennia, Ayurveda is translated from Sanskrit as the “ science of life ”. It is a holistic system because all plans of the individual are taken into consideration: physical, mental, spiritual, environmental, emotional, energetic (chakras, nadi...) in order to achieve complete fulfillment of life in all its aspects.

Based on dietetics, herbal medicine, massage , treatment, meditation, breathing, singing or yoga, Ayurveda helps to maintain the balance between body and mind, or possibly to regain it.

Ayurveda is based on the theory of the 5 elements : Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Each of these elements is present in more or less significant proportion in everything in the Universe, including in each individual.

A person will be said to be Vata, Pitta or Kapha depending on the predominant elements they have within them, this is what we call the “ dosha ”. Once the dosha has been identified ( take the test ), the individual can then adopt a lifestyle in accordance with their constitution to achieve long-term balance.

Regarding the massage, I adapt to your dosha and current state. A simple observation or a few words from you is enough for me to know how I will adapt the massage.

Practiced regularly, this well-being massage strengthens the immune system, develops vital energy, promotes good digestion and restful sleep, nourishes the skin...

Health and precautions

Ayurvedic massage has no contraindications for a healthy person . For people suffering from fever, inflammatory crisis, edema, phlebitis or serious illness (cancer, etc.), massage is prohibited. Also, it should be avoided for women during the first two days of menstruation.

If you are aware of an illness, or if you have the slightest doubt, it is up to you to seek the advice of your doctor.

These are well-being, non-therapeutic massages .

Prepare your massage

Choose an outfit that doesn't suck too much, there will always be a little oil left on your skin. I provide you with disposable briefs.

Also, a complete massage involves the neck, face and scalp (the hair will therefore be a little oiled).

It is recommended not to eat for 2 hours before the massage.

Before the session, try to put your expectations into words . Do you have tension in certain muscles, stiffness? What state of mind are you in right now?

The massages I offer are strictly professional ( in no way sexual !).

After your massage

It is important to hydrate well (simple hot water or herbal infusion) to help eliminate toxins. I always offer you a herbal tea at the end of the session.

In order to appreciate and benefit from this state of well-being for as long as possible, plan to rest or do calm activities that could complement this state of well-being (quiet walk by the sea, in the forest, etc.). .) Be careful, however, not to be cold or in a draft, and don't forget to breathe well.

Ecology

Concerned about the environment, I use organic oil , and in particular sesame oil.

In Ayurveda, sesame oil is said to be "tridoshic", meaning that it is suitable for all constitutions (except in specific cases of allergy).

Cold pressed, it retains its regenerating, nourishing, softening and antioxidant properties. A true treatment for the skin and a comforting envelope for the mind.

Also, I use washable fabrics, to limit the impact of my activity on the environment as much as possible.
